The Capitals is currently owned by former AOL executive Ted Leonsis since 1999. Grabovski is expected to play a back-up role for the Capitals this year. Oates said barring any injuries, his team will have a banner season this year.

The Washington Capitals plays all its home games in the National Hockey League at the Verizon Center. The Verizon Centen is a world-class sports arena located on top of land leased from the District of Columbia.
