The Tenors are Canadian quartet originally consisting of Remigio Pereira, Victor Micallef, Fraser Walters, and Jamie McKnight. Immediately after the group was formed in 2007 the group released their first album simply named The Canadian Tenors. However in early 2009 Jamie McKnight opted to leave and he was replaced by Clifton Murray. This is also the current line-up which hasn't changed since then.
Later in 2009 the group released its second album which also was their first holiday album. It was an instant success and it became 3X platinum album. Their excellent work was immediately noticed around North America and they've been able to secure tour with famous David Foster as well as appearances on the world's famous Oprah Winfrey Show with probably the most recognizable Canadian entertainer Celine Dion.
All these things eventually led to release of their album in the United States as well which opened them doors to expand and attract even more people to their music.
But it wasn't until 2012 when they finally hit the big stage. They were signed to Verve Records making them part of the roster that includes amazing musicians such as Andrea Bocelli, Smokey Robinson and Diana Krall. Their third album Lead With Your Heart was released during the summer of same year. It was that had both covers of legendary songs like Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" but also included original compositions written by the band itself.
In 2013 the band popularity was further on the rise and they've finally succeeded in crossing the Atlantic. Their highly praised album was released in the United Kingdom and they've been invited to appear on the BBC. Also the 2013 brought them first major award, 2013 JUNO Award for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year.
That meant that their next album had to be of equal quality so for the next two years the band was determined to create such material. And it was worth the waiting. Their newest album called Under One Sky was released earlier this year and within days it became number one on i-Tunes. It is once again mix of original songs and covers which worked incredibly well in the past. The live performance DVD will also be available which adds another dimension to already interesting album.
But that doesn't mean The Tenors are willing to rest on the laurels. Quite the contrary, the band will be touring during summer and they are definitely act worth seeing.
