Sir James Paul McCartney is one of the most successful musicians of all time. He was born on June 18, 1942, in Liverpool England. He had a passion for music from a ripe age and loved to study music and art. He wrote his first song when he was a teenager.

He started his path to greatness by first joining Lennon’s band which was called The Quarrymen. One thing led to another and before long they later formed the hit group the Beatles. It was composed of talented individuals namely John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and himself. The group changed the aspect of music in the world and sold millions of records. Fortunately, it broke up forcing the members to go their separate ways.

McCartney did not let his passion for music die. Since the 1970s he continued working in popular music. He started his solo career when he was 28. He formed a new band called Wings. He released his first solo album which was called “McCartney”. It was very successful, and topped the charts. It even spawned an ever green ballad which is popularly known as the “Maybe I’m Amazed”.

The group grew and in no time it was among the most successful commercial bands. “Band on the Run” got the group two awards for the brilliance and talent that was put into it. Their single “Mull of Kintyre” topped the chart for nine weeks in the UK. It is the single that sold the most in the UK for seven years.

He took a short break from music for some years due to different reasons. In 1999 he released an album titled “Run Devil Run” which made the charts and was covered in multiple famous publications. He has since then released albums such as “Working Classical” and “A Garland for Linda”, the latter helped in raising funds to aid cancer survivors. His career has been largely successful since then. In 2012, he performed at the opening ceremony of the 2012 summer Olympics, which were held in London. He is respected internationally as one of the best entertainers of all time.
