Luke Bryan is an American country music singer and song writer, who has spawned a number of hits, making him one of the most recognised country starts out there today. His draw has seen him go beyond simple country and music charts, as he also has a strong international following outside of his home country.

Thomas Luther ‘Luke’ Bryan was born in the small town of Leesburg, Georgia on July 17, 1976. Growing up he was always a fan of music in general, but access to his parent’s extensive country records would see his influences mould him from a young age. He would eventually get a guitar for a present as a young teenager, setting him on the path to stardom from a young age.

The son of peanut farmer, Bryan would continue to play throughout high school, yet upon leaving, would go into work with the family business. After his father realised that his son was not pursuing his dream, he urged him to go to Nashville Tennessee as he had once planed, in the hopes of finding success as a singer song-writer.

Moving to Nashville in 2001, he began performing throughout the local scene and it wasn’t long until Bryan was spotted by a record label, with a rep from Capitol Records catching one of his performances at a local club. He was then signed to the label, with which he released his debut record ‘I’ll Stay Me’ followed by ‘Doin’ My Thing’. They were both hits, charting at number 2 in the country charts, and spanned several no 1 hits, including ‘Rain Is a Good Thing’, and saw him gain nominations from the Academy of Country Music.

After a personal tragedy which saw the untimely death of his sister, Bryan decided to take the time in recording his newest album, which saw a release in 2009. ‘Tailgates and Tanlines’ was a massive success in the country charts, spawning a number of hits, including number one tracks ‘I Don't Want This Night to End’ and ‘Drunk on You’.

Already established as one of the tops acts I n country music, Luke Bryan saw crossover success with his next record, Crash My Party, which was his most commercially successful album to date, going in at number one in the Billboard Top 200 Country Album Charts. The record had a number of popular tracks in the pop and country charts, confirming Bryan’s status as a true crossover star.

Starting out as a simple country singer from a small town in Georgia, Luke Bryan is now one of the most successful and recognised performers of country music. He continues to tour extensively around the world, proving just how appealing his music is throughout the globe.
