Bruce Springsteen needs no introduction. As a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he is one of the most important figures of American Rock culture. With 20 Grammy Awards and numerous classic songs, like "Dancing in the Dark," "Born to Run" and "I'm On Fire," Springsteen is without a doubt a musical living legend.
Bruce Springsteen's musical career was originally inspired by other musical icons, including Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. This inspiration drove the young Springsteen to join a local band in 1965 as its lead singer. Despite his promising start, however, it took him another ten years to make a major breakthrough in his musical career. This breakthrough happened in 1975 with the release his third album, which featured "Born to Run." This song peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200, and this major breakthrough catapulted Springsteen to fame.
Springsteen then followed up his initial success with the release of his fourth album: Darkness on the Edge of Town, which marked a major shift in his musical style. In this album, Springsteen began to explore themes that were related to working class Americans. He continued to cultivate these musical themes for several more years, but his work would ultimately prove fruitful, because on 1984, Springsteen achieved super-stardom with the release of his seventh album, Born in the U.S.A., which included seven singles that hit the top of Billboard Charts, including "Glory Days" and "Born in the U.S,A." Needless to say, this album made Springsteen a musical legend.
Springsteen's musical career remained bright even after the release of his seventh album. He released numerous albums all throughout the 90's and 2000's. His latest album, High Hopes, garnered generally positive reviews from critics who continue to praise Springsteen's evolving musical style. Bruce Springsteen has certain come a long way, and there is no doubt that he is one of the most important musical icons in America today.
